In 1950, arms dealer Zsa-Zsa Korda survives an assassination attempt and experiences a divine judgment while unconscious. Realizing his life is in danger, he tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Sister Liesl, a Catholic novice he sent to a convent as a child. He urges her to leave the Church and inherit his business. Liesl is skeptical, partly due to rumors that Korda murdered her mother.
Korda embarks on a risky infrastructure scheme in Phoenicia, using unethical practices and underhanded deals to secure investment. Government agent Excalibur attempts to sabotage the plan. Liesl and Korda, accompanied by Bjørn—Korda’s assistant and a Norwegian entomologist—navigate tense negotiations and attempted betrayals.
Korda confronts his past, learning he isn’t Liesl’s biological father and that his actions indirectly caused her mother's death. Liesl agrees to continue helping him to bring down Nubar, Korda’s half-brother and co-investor. After surviving a plane bombing and discovering Bjørn is a spy—who switches sides out of love for Liesl—the group returns home.
At the final investor meeting, Nubar reveals he orchestrated the assassination attempts. Korda defeats him, renounces his corrupt ways, and invests his fortune ethically. Liesl forgives him, accepts him as her father, and they retire to a quiet life running a bistro.
