In 2010, InGen secretly operated a lab on Île Saint-Hubert in the Atlantic, creating transgenic mutant dinosaurs. One experiment, a deformed six-limbed tyrannosaur called the Distortus rex, escaped, killed an employee, and forced the island’s evacuation. Seventeen years later, in 2027, Earth’s changing climate forces surviving dinosaurs to equatorial no-travel zones. Pharmaceutical executive Martin Krebs hires ex-military operative Zora Bennett and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis to lead a covert mission harvesting DNA from three massive species for a revolutionary heart treatment. Zora enlists her friend Duncan Kincaid to assemble a team including LeClerc, Nina, and Bobby Atwater.
Arriving on the island, they extract a Mosasaurus sample after rescuing shipwrecked survivors Reuben Delgado, his daughters Teresa and Isabella, and Teresa’s boyfriend Xavier. When the Mosasaurus attacks, Bobby is killed and Teresa goes overboard when Martin shoves her to protect the mission’s secrecy. The Delgados become separated, encountering deadly dinosaurs as the team secures Titanosaurus and Quetzalcoatlus DNA—though LeClerc and Nina are lost.
Reunited at the abandoned lab, Martin betrays the group, stealing the samples and fleeing to the helipad. Mutated raptor-pterosaur hybrids attack, driving the survivors underground. The rescue helicopter arrives but is destroyed by the Distortus rex, which also devours Martin. The survivors reach a locked gate; Isabella unlocks it, and Duncan lures the creature away so they can escape by boat. Zora and Henry vow to release the life-saving treatment as open-source, freely available worldwide.
